Equally important to GBF's mission is to respond to the needs of our local communities to help them bounce back from crisis. Through Juan Community for Resilience, GBF provided support throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and conducted relief operations immediately after Typhoon Odette's devastation.
STEM Collab is GBF's engaged community of STEM teachers. It is also a capacity-building program that provides free and bite-sized learning sessions.
GBSEALD aims to help elevate education through the formation of educators, educational leaders, policy makers and other learning professionals. Envisioned to be a center of excellence and leadership in education, especially in Science, Math, Reading and Writing, it seeks to be able to contribute in improving educational policy and practice through its graduates.
JGIC works toward becoming a major hub of multimedia gaming revolution and interactive entertainment in the ASEAN region. GBF aims to provide the future-ready Filipino leaders with the best technical training and education in interactive media and game development, a continuously emerging industry in the digital economy.
The resource center located on the fifth floor of the National Museum of Anthropology, is the fruit of a partnership between the National Museum of the Philippines and GBF, with the goal of providing universal access to the knowledge that may be gained from the study approximately 1,000 stoneware and earthenware ceramics from the National Ethnographic Collection.
The De La Salle University recognized GBF’s endowment by renaming its engineering institution as the Gokongwei College of Engineering in 2011. It is recognized by CHED as a Center of Excellence for Chemical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering programs as Centers of Excellence, and a Center of Development for Computer Engineering.

The facility in Calamba, Laguna, is the new home of GBF’s Iskolar ni Juan Tech-Voc program. Furnished with complete state-of-the-art training equipment to be used to better service hundreds of scholars and manufacturing technical workers, the improved facilities would keep the GBF at par with the fast changing technological developments and demands.
The National Science and Technology Fair (NSTF) is an annual event of the Department of Education (DepEd) where bright young minds gather to present their scientific research and discoveries amid the changing world. Aside from the award, GBF also grants scholarships to the winners to help them pursue a degree in Science, Technology, Mathematics or Engineering at their dream universities in the future.
GBF and the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute share the goal of recognizing and empowering young emerging scientists to become future innovators and nation builders. With this partnership, the Foundation will select Young Scientist Awardees from the finalists of the annual imake.wemake: create.innovate.collaborate, a competition for young Filipinos that showcases their creativity and innovation.
A major thrust of GBF for STEM educators is the establishment of an innovative, scalable, and high-impact professional development program. GBF engaged IDEO, a global pioneer in Design Thinking, to conduct the process of designing the program’s blueprint.
