Juan Community For Resilience

Equally important to GBF's mission is to respond to the needs of our local communities to help them bounce back from crisis. Through Juan Community for Resilience, GBF provided support throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and conducted relief operations immediately after Typhoon Odette's devastation.

Juan Community For Resilience

COVID-19 Response

The Gokongwei Brothers Foundation continues to strengthen the country's resilience against the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic through its Juan Communities program. The Gokongwei Group's family foundation and Cebu Pacific Air, in partnership with other Gokongwei Group companies, donated more than 800 gallons of Microbe Fighter disinfectants to different hospitals, local government units, schools, and other organizations across the country in need of additional protection against the COVID-19 virus.

The Gokongwei Brothers Foundation and Robinsons Appliances Corporation show support to hospitals, churches, and local government units in observing the health and safety protocols against the COVID-19 pandemic through electric fans donations in partnership with Robinsons Land Corporation’s Robinsons Place Manila, JG Summit Petrochemical Corporation, and Universal Robina Corporation Sugar and Renewables Group.

Typhoon Odette Response

The devastating impact of Typhoon Odette in the operations of all its sugar mills, distilleries and a biomass-fired power plant in the VisMin area has not deterred the Sugar and Renewables business unit of Universal Robina Corporation, in partnership with the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF), to extend a helping hand to its affected employees and surrounding communities.

Employee volunteers also helped repack and distribute relief goods consisting of essential grocery food items for residents of nearby barangays and neigboring municipalities.
