GBF-URC SURE STEM Agri SHS and College Scholarship

Since 2019, GBF and URC Sugar and Renewables Division (SURE) has been providing the STEM-Agri Scholarship to the children of its sugarcane farmer partners in Negros Occidental. This scholarship is awarded to the qualified senior high school and college dependents of the URC-SURE sugar planters to promote and sustain the sugarcane industry.

For the long-term benefit of this scholarship program to the local sugar industry, the STEM-Agri Senior High School scholars must pursue Sugar Technology or any agriculture-related course in college while the STEM-Agri College scholars should develop a thesis that can be utilized by the sugar industry. Moreover, to promote sugar farming continuity, the college scholars should submit a three-year plan that focuses on the growth and development of their family’s sugarcane farm which URC-SURE will monitor. 

GBF-URC BCFG STEM Agri College Scholarship

In 2022, GBF and URC Branded Consumer Foods Group (BCFG) extended the STEM Agri College Scholarship to the children of its potato farmer partners in the Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR). This scholarship opportunity is GBF and URC’s initiative to help in the innovation and sustainability of potato farming in the country.

Similar to the aforementioned obligations of the STEM Agri College scholars, the scholars in this program are expected to impact Philippine agriculture although with emphasis on continued potato farming through their development of a thesis that will benefit the potato industry and creation of a three-year plan for their family farm which URC BCFG will monitor.

• Fixed annual financial grant to subsidize tuition and other fees (Subject to terms and conditions of scholarship agreement)

GBF-URC SURE STEM Agri Senior High School Scholarship

• Enrolled in Sugar Technology strand of Tara Provincial Community High School-Negros Occidental
• Has an outstanding academic record with GWA of at least 80%
• Top 30% of the Junior HS batch (Grade 10) in the previous school year
• Exemplifies good moral character and shows active participation and involvement in extra-curricular activities
• Family land/property should not exceed ten (10) hectares
• Parent of the applicant must be a farmer partner of Universal Robina Corporation-Sugar and Renewables in Negros Occidental for at least five (5) years

GBF-URC SURE STEM Agri College Scholarship

• Enrolled in a GBF priority Agriculture-related course in one of GBF's preferred universities
• Has an outstanding academic record with GWA of at least 2.5 or 80%
• Top 30% of SHS batch for incoming 1st-year students, or top 40% of the course batch for continuing college students
• Exemplifies good moral character and shows active participation and involvement in extra-curricular activities
• Family land/property should not exceed ten (10) hectares
• Parent of the applicant must be a farmer partner of Universal Robina Corporation-Sugar and Renewables in Negros Occidental for at least five (5) years

GBF-BCFG BCFG STEM Agri College Scholarship

• Enrolled in a GBF priority Agriculture-related course in one of GBF's preferred universities
• Has an outstanding academic record with GWA of at least 2.0 or 85%
• Top 10% of SHS batch for incoming 1st-year students, or top 20% of the course batch for continuing college students
• Exemplifies good moral character and shows active participation and involvement in extra-curricular activities
• Family land/property should not exceed two (2) hectares
• Parent of the applicant must be a member of the United Potato Producers of Benguet and Mountain Provinces for at least two (2) years
