Ka-Collab Spotlight: NSTF Research Adviser Lolita G. Bautista on her dedication to inspiring future community scientists!

Teachers, or as we fondly call them, Ka-Collabs, are the unsung heroes of our society. Their role extends beyond the classroom, encompassing a relentless dedication to ensuring our students' safety, protection, and guidance as they navigate life toward becoming responsible citizens who contribute positively to society.

One such exemplar of a modern hero among our Ka-Collabs is Research Adviser Lolita G. Bautista. Mrs. Bautista epitomizes the essence of dedication and mentorship, going above and beyond to inspire and guide her students toward excellence in STEM.

In an interview with one of her students, Neil David C. Cayanan, a distinguished GBF Young Scientist Awardee, Mrs. Bautista's impact became abundantly clear. Neil, who received an Honorable Mention at INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona, expressed profound gratitude for Mrs. Bautista's unwavering support

He credited her for not only inspiring his team to delve deeper into their project but also for instilling in them a sense of purpose to create solutions that transcend the classroom, leaving a lasting impact on their school and community.

"Mama Lols is more than just a teacher to us. She is a co-researcher, a friend, a mentor, and a mother figure," Neil shared warmly. His sentiment echoes the sentiments of countless students whose lives have been touched and transformed by the dedication and passion of their teachers. Coach Lolita ensured that her commitment as an SIP coach extended beyond Neil's team.

In the recently concluded National Science and Technology Fair (NSTF) held at the Sequoia Hotel in Paranaque City, her team once again stood out among a multitude of delegates showcasing outstanding projects representing their regions with pride. Among the awards garnered were Best Project in Physical Science, Best Presenter, and Best Poster. Her team also qualified to represent the Philippines in the Regeneron ISEF 2024 in May in Los Angeles, California.

Indeed, the recognition and love we receive from our students validate our chosen path and reaffirm the significance of our roles as educators. So, today, as we pay tribute to the heroes of our past, let us also salute and express our deepest appreciation to our modern-day heroes – our teachers, our Ka-Collabs

Saludo kami sa inyo, Coach Lolita, at sa lahat ng mga Ka-Collab!
